Alexandra Park Road
Muswell Hill

Eastwest’s design for a unique contemporary angular butterfly roof for an extension to a period London property was achieved with a carefully designed steel frame.
3 triangular roof lights are supported by large timber beams from the primary steel frame with supported the whole of the rear elevation of the house and forms the extension. Given the geometrical challenges the use of 3D modelling was vital to ensure each of the interface details between the steel, timber, masonry and glass were resolved before any materials were ordered.
The project included a dormer loft conversion which was achieved without introducing any steel beams to save on project costs and to aid construction.
