Refurbishment of an office building on high street to new residential accommodation including the addition of an new storey. The existing structure was investigated to confirm the capacity of the additional loading. Several options were considered including testing of the historic steel sections to confirm their capacity. The adopted solution resulted in minimal structural intervention  and reuse of the existing roof steels.
