Clichy Estate

Tower Hamlets, London

Clichy Estate

The redevelopment of an existing estate to provide a newer residential development of 400+ homes.

We are working alongside PRP and London Borough of Tower Hamlets to replace the Harriot, Apsley and Pattison Houses. The design will include two terraced units and mid-rise blocks between six and 12-storeys joined by first floor podium structures, landscaped spaces, and children’s play areas. At the heart of the development has been ambitious phasing to keep disruption to a minimum for the existing residents.

SD are providing structural and civil engineering for the regeneration project including preparation of a Drainage Statement and Flood Risk Assessment for planning, detailing a fully SuDS compliant design for the proposed buildings and surrounding associated hard landscaping.

A full appraisal of the structural forms, cost, programme, and embodied carbon of Modern Methods of Construction, Glulam/CLT, steel, and reinforced concrete were explored using our in-house plugins for Revit.

The design has been fully optimised to reduce carbon and ensure efficiency. The project has been coordinated to BIM Level 2.

Planning permission received 2022.
