Complete renovation of this property involved the reconfiguration of all floors, the provision of an additional floor, and the excavation of a basement under the entire footprint of the building.

The design of a feature staircase consisting floating timber treads and prestressed stainless steel cables spanning four floors was designed and detailed in house with SD Structures.

In addition to traditional structural engineering services, SD Structures also undertook reinforcement detailing and scheduling all in 3D, and also undertook steel connection design.

Temporary works are key to the successful implementation of any basement excavation, and in response to this, SD Structures were appointed to undertake the temporary works design and propping directly on behalf of the contractor.
