Hodford Road

This project for a private developer consisted doubling the existing footprint of the building, increasing it’s height and constructing a new half basement to increase floor to ceiling heights.

This project included the removal of all but one original walls at ground floor, whilst keeping the upper floor of the structure.  Steel framing was introduced and jacked into place to provide a shallow transfer structure  spanning 10m at only 300mm deep.   An additional storey was also added to the front and rear in the loft space

Due to the large quantity of glass in the elevations and a full perimeter glass slot to the first floor ceiling, reinforced concrete walls were used to stabilise the building above ground as well as form the new lower ground floor excavations.
