The design of a new industrial structure on the Medway Estate to store and pump highly corrosive vinegar ready for shipping.

SD Structures undertook the structural analysis and design of the portal frame structure to provide a clear span over the working area below.   Due to the poor quality of the ground below, the portal frame and ground floor structure were built suspended over a grillage of piles.

Working with corrosive substances and highly aggressive ground conditions required the application of specialist knowledge and detailing to ensure minimum future maintenance and repair.
