Party Wall Engineering Review Services
A wall is a “party wall” if it stands astride the boundary of land belonging to two (or more) different owners and is covered by the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. The Act is designed to allow works to a property to go ahead whilst safe guarding neighbouring structures which may be adversely affected by the work.
Adjoining owners have the right to appoint their own Surveyor and Structural Engineer to check that works have been properly designed and will not cause damage to the party wall. The Act stipulates that professional fees will be covered by the building owner undertaking the works. We have extensive knowledge of structural engineering activities which trigger the party wall act and work close with Surveyors to protect the interests of concerns parties.
