Inside Out House, London

Inside Out House, London

This four-storey home in East London has been fully refurbished, and a ground floor rear extension provides our client with an open-plan kitchen and dining area.

The brick arch which framed the original family room window has been retained, with an oak stair beneath the arch connecting the new space with the existing. A large rooflight directly above the dining table and fully glazed sliding doors into the garden allow natural light to fill the room.

The rear extension and garden wall are clad in dark articulated brickwork which contrasts perfectly against the concrete floor of the kitchen and the steel framed slatted oak canopy which provides solar shading.

Don’t Move, Improve! Longlist.
